Some precautions are needed to be followed after almost all the dental treatments like extraction, RCT, etc. In order to make sure that the healing process is faster, it is imperative to follow post-operative care instructions as mentioned below:

Immediately after the Surgery (First 24 Hours):

After the surgery, the gauze pad needs to be kept with pressure over the surgical area for at least 30 minutes
Rinsing and spitting should be avoided which may lead to excessive bleeding
For the 24 hours following surgery only soft and cold food should be eaten
While sleeping some extra pillows should be kept under the head to keep the head slightly elevated

Post-24 Hours after Surgery:
It is recommended to rinse mouth every 4 hours after with warm n salty water
It is extremely important to rinse the mouth properly to flush out food particles out of the mouth that may lodge in the area, which may lead to possible infection
